Free Room;

Central to the works is the social and meeting space, Leeds CityFree Room; an open environment where conversation, discussion, debate and collaboration is nurtured and celebrated. The space can display creative outputs of our creative city communities. In the spirit of being open and collaborative we are inviting interesting people to share our space and to make it their own.

The Leeds CityFree roomis a place where artists, civic minded community groups and organisations can meet, display work and discuss opportunities and initiatives relevant to the city and the region. We are providing an independent agenda free space in the city.

We are not working alone -Leeds City Councilhave endorsed our initiative; Concourse have provided initial seed funding and conversations are underway with others, including; The Civic Trust, West Yorkshire Society of Architects, RIBA Yorkshire and the Academy of Urbanism.

We are looking for commercial sponsors to support us in this endeavour; as they too can benefit from using the space – as a meeting room, or remote working – so expect a call!

Workshop;

Make at Ginger works; a small fabrication workshop will be available for hire and open for use November 2019 to provide a place to make and create in the city centre. The workshop enables ideas to be made manifest and tested; experimentation and exploration are actively encouraged. The workshop allows the physical act of making to become part of the design process.

An annual membership scheme, with initial workshop induction and health and safety introduction is all that’s required to allow use of the space on a pay as you use basis.

If you have a need of a space or a place to make please get in touch.
