The proposals provide refurbished studio’s and new studio spaces, to provide c.20,000sqft of serviced creative studio suites targeted at graduate retention within the city. The project is an integral part of the innovation and skills quarter aimed at breathing new life into one of the most historic areas of the town.

Hartlepool Council is behind the ambitious project to transform the former General Post Office to establish up to 31 new units for start-ups businesses specialising in creative industries. Cleveland College of Art &Design (CCAD) has teamed up with the Council to collaborate in the management, marketing and operation of the centre. For the second year running CCAD is the UK No 1 for art and design graduate employability (96.6%) and in the top five for all Higher Education providers in the UK. 

The project has been supported with specialist advice from property experts Cushman and Wakefield and detailed design from architects Group Ginger.
