Japanese Architect Mai Omi

Mai Omi successfully passed her national qualifying examination in Japan and obtained a licence as first-class Kenchikushi (architect and building engineers).

In Japan Kenchikushi exam is quite different from British architect professional exam. It is not specific to only architect. Other professionals in construction industry, including structural engineers, construction manager, planners and M&E engineer, take the same exam, hence the definition of Kenchikushi is architect and building engineers. 

To be fully qualified architect you are required to sit examinations on five subjects - 1) planning, 2) environment/ MEP systems, 3) building legislations and law, 4) structure and 5) construction work…
