Planning has been secured for a new rear extension adding a key social and entertaining space which relates to the substantial garden. Group Ginger facilitated a discussion with the owners to understand their needs and how they would ideally like to live in the house and make use of the external spaces. The proposals flip the accommodation to create larger more generous open and light spaces to the rear with direct access to the garden. Utility and storage spaces are embedded into the plan releasing the rear elevation, allowing it to be opened up to directly address the new terrace and landscaped garden. The proposals establish distinct spaces where their function is celebrated. The garden and extension provide daytime sociable entertainment accommodation with the original living space altered to become more private and secluded.
