Tokyo visit and cultural exchange
During November 2016, Sarah Mills, Senior lecturer and Course Leader at Leeds Beckett University and collaborator with Group Ginger took Master of Architecture students to Tokyo, Japan where they studied the 'subtraction' of the Kanda River and presented their architectural proposals for 'Catalytic Commoning' at Japan Women's University.
The students visited numerous sites of interest including: St Mary's Cathedral by Kenzo Tange, Pasona Urban Farm by Kono Designs, Tsukiji Fish Market, The Edo Museum, Nagasaki Capsule Hotel, Sunnyhills and Nezu Museum by Kengo Kuma, Asakura Sculpture Garden and temples and shines in Kamakura.
Whilst in Japan Sarah organised and curated the exhibition 'Cinematic Commons' and directed a workshop, at the Design Hub, Midtown, Tokyo, in collaboration with Cinematic Architecture Tokyo and Kyushu University and gave the following public lectures:

Group Ginger
