Dr Ian Cameron- Leeds City Council Director of Public Health

Ian’s presentation will focus on how he has used his mandatory responsibility to produce an Annual Report of the Director of Public Health to highlight the public health benefits of good urban design.

This is set in the context of a politically sensitive housing growth challenge in Leeds. Ian’s report subsequently was awarded first prize in the national Association of Directors of Public Health Annual Report Competition.

Jenny Fisher- Principal Urban Planner- Leeds City Council

Recent work has involved exploring the potential for improving health and wellbeing in Leeds through drawing together the city’s priorities and fully engaging with colleagues across all council agendas: Age Friendly Leeds; Reducing Inequalities through Healthy Lifestyle; Physical Activity; Mentally Healthy City; and Child Friendly City. Her presentation will focus on this work but also explore the aligned areas of active travel and green infrastructure.

Michael Chang – Town and Country planning association

Michael is the Project and policy manager at the Town and Country planning association (TCPA) and is a chartered Town Planning for health initiatives since 2010 with a range of highly influencial guidance publications. He is currently leading TCPA’s role as a commissioned partner to NHS England on developing guidance on the next generations of healthy new towns.
