Group Ginger is working with a National Developer and Local Authority land owner to prepare development proposals for a town centre extension. The proposals strategically review the existing highways infrastructure, to amalgamate land parcels to consolidate the development opportunity. Extensive additional housing is being delivered in the region and the retail core extension will meet this increased demand for shopping, leisure and workplace. The proposals focus on establishing a distinct quarter for the town, capitalising on existing assets such as the river and brook. A series of linked public spaces create a clear hierarchy of space, providing legibility and strong links to the existing. The focus of the development is to establish welcoming vibrant and pleasant spaces, increasing dwell time in the town centre and preventing leakage out of the city.
